Experimental Laboratory (An)archeologies of the Sensible: methodological research for cinema and audiovisual studies based on artificial intelligence (2025-2027), has received funding from the National Research Council of Brasil (CNPq/MCTI/FNDCT nº22/2024 – Programa Conhecimento Brasil – Apoio a Projetos em Rede.)
The project aims to establish and structure a networked research laboratory dedicated to the experimental study of film and audiovisual media, based on a combination of various forms of aesthetic-cultural analysis and trends in digital methods applied to the arts and humanities.
LabEAS is based at the Federal University of Bahia, within the (an)archaeologies of the sensible research group (GAS), under the coordination of professors Marcelo Ribeiro and Adil Lepri. In addition to participants based in Brazil, the project also includes the participation of researchers and professors Fábio Andrade, from Vassar College in New York, and Isadora Grevan, from Rutgers University in Newark, both in the United States, and postdoctoral researcher Renan Porto, from the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland.
Objectives
Our goals include academic publications in the field of intersection between Artificial Intelligence and Film and Audiovisual Studies, as well as public lectures and artistic workshops.
